VMS are pleased to announce that they have entered into an initial 5 year agreement with the University of Exeter Students Guild to take on the development and delivery of their Events and Entertainments Programme as well as the operation of their venue the ‘Lemon Grove’. From a VMS perspective the project will fall under the remit of VMS Operations Director – Richard Maides. Commenting on the prospect Richard said in many ways Exeter is experiencing similar issues to those at the UEA in Norwich prior to our involvement some 4 years ago. A once thriving Club and Live venue had somewhat lost its direction and shine in the face of strong competition both locally and nationally. Working in partnership with the Guild we are putting in place a complete revamp of the Club Brands and venues operation. Plans are already well advanced for the autumn and we cant wait to get started. On the club front we will be working closely with our new VMS Development Manager (Radio 1 Extra DJ), Tim Zee – who will be overseeing the Club Revamp. While at the same time we will be delivering improved in house production to deliver a fit for purpose experience for both Club and Live events alike.
Exeter Students’ Guild Director of Commercial Services, Nicola Carter, said the new partnership is “an incredible opportunity to develop our existing programme of events and to showcase the Lemon Grove as a leading venue in Exeter for live music, arts, and dynamic nightlife for students and residents alike”.
